PUBLIC NOTICE – POSSIBLE TEMPORARY WATER SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS

Okmulgee County Rural Water District #2 would like to inform customers that ODOT contractors are actively working in the areas of Preston Intersection for a highway project to upgrade the Preston Intersection and also contractors are working along Old Highway 75 as part of a new line upgrade project.

During the next several weeks, there is a possibility that a water line may be accidentally damaged during construction. If this occurs, customers in the affected areas may experience temporary loss of water service or low pressure. Please be assured that any interruption will be addressed and service will be restored as quickly as possible.

Due to the nature of this ongoing project, there may be times when we are unable to send immediate alert text notifications. We encourage all customers to check for updates at this website.

This is an ongoing situation throughout the duration of the new Preston intersection highway improvements, and System Upgrades that could cause intermittent disruptions may occur as work progresses.

Next Tuesday May 5th, we are scheduled for contractors to tie in our new inlet line to our existing main pump station feed. This should not affect customers, but we will notify the public if there should be any interruption of services. There is a slight possibility that it could potentially cause loss of pressure to the area of Smith Rd and Old Highway 75, but the tie in should go very quickly. Again, we will keep the website posted.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as these important upgrades are completed to improve water service for our community.

Thank you,

Okmulgee County Rural Water District #2
